Anger is a big part of the healing process and it is important to allow yourself to release it in healthy ways. This can be done by:
*Writing - write out your anger and then rip it up and/or burn it (or keep it if that works best for you)
*Rip up a phone book or anything that is as thick as a phone book.
*Punch a pillow - I actually bought a body size pillow and drew a head and neck on it. I strangled that pillow, kicked it, punched it, threw it against the wall....I mutilated it.
*Scream and yell into a pillow - I actually did a lot of my screaming and yelling in the car.
*Cry - crying does actually release anger so if you feel the tears coming let them flow
All of these methods are safe for you and will assure that you don't displace your anger and take it out on others - as it sounds like this may be happening at your work. When you are working with any of these methods make sure you are focused on who you are angry with.
I actually bought a punching bag and would punch that when the anger surfaced. I would scream at the abuser and imagine it was him I was hitting. I actually do not like to hit but I did do it in order to get the anger out of me.
If you are not working with a therapist I would urge you to do so because the healing process can be quite daunting and a good therapist can help you sort through it all and will justify your feelings.
Take care
