Well you have a choice now because you are an adult. Why do you have the need to tolerate that situation? Your body is telling you to stop being a victim again.

idk what to do. i can't just leave. my parent's know how i feel about him being here but don't do anything about it. what choice do i have. i'm only 17 not an adult yet.

You are 17 and very mature for your age. One more year and you will have your own life.

It is sad that your parents dont protect you. I am sorry, but your maturity and intelligence will liberate you with time and you will be happy one day.

Try to educate your self and study a lot so that you can have your own job and never depend on others and be in the same situation again.

the best thing I can say is to find something time consuming to do and put all your focus into it

yes i still see some of my abusers alot. my brother is one. Handling it is only uncomfortable for me now.

I have said all I am going to say to them and I don't let them dominate my emotions or life anymore. I just accept that they were part of my life and no longer have any control over me.

Yes, one of my abusers is still around and infiltrates any chance she can get. The other one knows he's never welcome near me, my home, or my husband and kids or ... let's just leave it at that. But, it's extremely difficult. Extremely! What's extra difficult for you is that you are just 17 and live with your abuser. If I were you, I would create a plan to get out (i.e. college), protect yourself as much as possible such as locking doors (bedroom, bathroom, etc.), beg for a huge dog that will follow you everywhere you go. I would definately get a huge dog. Take a self-defense class. Carry mase with you all the time, in your pocket.

Do what ever you have to do - say what ever you have to say to establish your boundaries. AND don't allow anyone, even your parents, to violate your boundaries. Peace and Love your way.

I don't understand parents who allow abusers to be in the house. Mine was my dad and my mom is still married to him. I'll die never getting THAT one. Anyway....I'm sure you don't want to spend the holidays away from your family, BUT have you thought about staying at a friend's house anyway? Maybe that would get the message to them? Is there a counselor at your school or someone in authority that you can go to and say hey....my abuser is going to be in the house and my parents are allowing it and I'm afraid for myself?
I guess this makes no sense to me....

thanks for your help guy's. i have thought about all of your advice and i thank you. it was all very good and helped me alot. i wish i could go and stay with a friend but that wouldn't go over to well with the parents and that might make things worse. but i guess i'll just have to watch my back, thanks guys

I would show the person whom my parents was still allowing in the house... my utter spite and hatered for his presence around me!
their would be no way i would even stand for that person to even come near me..and I would be bold and show it to. if your parents can't stand for you, then you stand for yourself, and then eventually they will say, man we should have been more serious about this!
(thats what happened with me.
My dad and brother molested me, and i had to live around them everyday, and finally i took things into my own hands when my mom wouldn't, and called children services to take me out of the home at 16. it was a long hard road from there, but better than being around my abusers all the time.

Prosecute and get the guy out of the house and in prison. I wish I would have done the same, I lived with my abuser for a while, it was just terrible. I regret not prosecuting him a lot.

I'm so sorry to hear that he was found not guilty. I really do feel for you. It seems best to get away from this person though. When I lived in the same house as my abuser it just ate me alive and kept me from healing. I just wish you could get away some how. I finally went to live with an aunt when I was still a minor so that I could be away from my abuser. I sure hope you have an option like that.
