I felt I needed to express what was going on with me after a day of crying many tears.
YESTERDAY I CRIED
Yesterday I cried, felt lost and so sad.
Christmas should be happy
A time of feeling glad
Instead I felt pain so deep in my soul
In feeling this pain, the truth will enfold
I grieved for the child, no peace could she find
So hurtful were they, so mean and unkind.
Where could I go what could I do?
Abuse is my legacy, nobody knew
The denial was strong to not face the pain
the scars were still hidden and I was to blame??
But I was only 4, a precious little girl
Abuse was my legacy, abuse was my world
My spirit was broken, each and every day
You re a stupid little kid that is what theyd say
I had no where to run, no where to hide
No one to comfort me, to be by my side.
Scared and alone, please take me away
Living this hell each and every day
But, my spirit stayed strong
In spite of the pain
The tears that I shed will not be in vain
Knowing it wasnt me
That I was NOT to blame
For THEIR ANGER AND RAGE
That was taken out on me
Abuse is my legacy, but now I am free
To shed those tears that I long held inside
To feel all the pain, that I so long denied.
