Wow, its been a while since i visited DS. i cant beleive the progress i have made over the past few years. 2 years ago i was very depressed and even suicidal (again). I got into counseling and have spent ALOT of time working on my sex abuse issues. i can now talk about it!!! i accept that it happened!!! i dont hold nearly as much anger (nearly, lol), and i have been able to be intimate and present with people!!! at the same time!!! LOL {BIG SMILES} That is the coolest thing learning how to be present during intimacy!!! WOw, thank you God! Thanks also to my counselor, the 12 Steps, friends, family, DS, etc... and thanks to me! and my little kid inside!!! I am so grateful for all the progress/support/love. I have made so much progress, i am finally truly ready for a relationship. A little scared, but i am ready, and i want it! LOL :-) It feels so good.
I have also been dieting, and lost 10 pounds, i am eating healthier food which improves my mood and gives me more energy. i have been doing so well, my Dr took me off my medication 6 months ago, and i feel great! It was a little bumpy at first, but with my eating more healthy food, my mood has improved greatly! i dont think i will be needing the Rx ever again. (at least i hope not, lol) i was on it for 10 years, and i definitely needed to be! It helped in saving my life. i still have some anxiety today being off the meds, but i work through it, i talk to others, and i ask god for help. and now it is very manageable. But the depression is gone!!! Thank God!!! :-)
I just wanted to let people know that there IS hope, you can get better!!! and you can be happy!!! Beleive me, I NEVER thought in a million years i could EVER be happy. For 30 years of my life i was depressed. But today i am truly happy, i love who i am, i love my life! And i am so very grateful for it!!! Ya know, there is an upside to having a really crappy childhood... once you work through your issues, and become a better person, you love and appreciate life so much more!!!
So dont give up hope! I'm not gonna lie, its a long hard battle. so get lots of extra help! go for counseling, take meds if you need to, make new friends, go to a support group/12 step program, do something!!! And it will get better. the pain will pass. it just takes time, and a whole lotta work!!! But its worth it! :-)

I have been in recovery working on myself for 10 years now. but it wasnt till i was finally ready to work on my sexual abuse issues 2 years ago that i really began to feel the big progress. Good luck, and keep upi the good work. You have a great attitiude!
