Hi, I'm brand new to this group.  It's somewhat comforting to know I'm not the only one in this situation.  I'm a 61 year old man married for almost 40 years.  My wife is 60.  During the first 30 years of our marriage we had a good sex life, but then my wife's sexual desire started to taper off.  I think it's due in part to menopause which I understand can often affect a woman's libido.  When I try to initiate sex or try to talk to her about it, she says she's too old for sex and not interested.  She thinks I'm making too big a deal about it and that it's just sex.  I snore, so we sleep in separate rooms.  I feel really lonely sometimes.  I don't feel like I have any good options.  I don't want to divorce her.  I love her and want to take care of her.  She's been a good wife (for the first 30 years) and a good mother to our children who are now grown and living on their own.  We tried marriage counseling, but it wasn't very helpful.  Sometimes I'd just like to be able to talk to someone about it - someone who could understand.  Maybe this support group can help.
