Been a member of this group since January or so. Had a great run of a few weeks back then, but since I've allowed myself to relapse. The covid situation has made it all the worse. I keep justifying, saying it's ok, and trying to at least minimize. Has anyone had luck with weening? Or is cold turkey still the best method? I will not give up this fight, I want to make this change.

My counselor seems to support weening, but I think it has to be cold turkey. Weening does nothing but whet my appetite, in my experience. Alcoholics have a ninety day challenge. I just learned about this and am considering it for porn addiction. Just an encouragment: I'm glad to see that you are not giving up.

A slip isn't a "relapse" so don't feel bad. It happens. Don't think that you're "powerless"... you simply chose to indulge in that moment. You also choose not to on every other moment of your waking hours, so realise that your overall score is still great!!

The important thing is for you to look at that moment and determine why you chose to use pornographic material. What else could you have done to feel better instead? (Please don't say open a beer, NOT a good substitute) LOL
