Hey guys just join this group. I have started the road to no pornography yesterday I'm on my second day and I have zero urge so far I have the help of my fiancé so I can text or call her anytime I have the urge but it's good to know that I have a support system this large.
One thing that I did was to write down the lies that I've fallen for in the past, so I can be ready for them when they pop up again. "You aren't hurting anyone other than yourself!"; "It's OK to look at this thing; the boundary is way over there!"; "just this one more time - no more after that!"
I personally found it really difficult to confess to my girlfriend/fiance/wife when I would be tempted, so ended up keeping it hidden in the past, which was absolutely the wrong call.. This time around I have someone else I can reach out to, who I won't fear hurting or disappointing by confessing my struggles with..
Congrats on admitting your problem and it's great that you have the support of your fiance. Just to let you know that the first 2-3 days are pretty easy, it's the days that follow and the continuance of "no mo porn" is the long arduous journey. I'm a little over a week into my "porn abstinence" and I've found myself with new experiences and questions that I've been struggling with. I think it's great that your fiance is there as a support, just be sure to include their feelings and thoughts about the process. They are affected by your porn use as well. I have this group and my wife as my support currently and will be picking out a counselor to talk to before the months end.
