I just wanted to say to you that my ex-boyfriend was addicted to porn. I really wanted to help him, although he wasn't ashamed of it, he was sort of proud of it. Long story...
But I don't think you should be ashamed of your addiction. It's NOT your fault, YOU only know the key to why you got addicted (family upbringing, sexual abuse, etc...etc..)
I think the best thing to do is see a therapist. They WILL help you! A professional needs to help you sort out your issues. It's ok, we all have issues and we all have various disorders and addictions, some of us more so than others.
NOTHING to be ashamed of!!!!!!
The fact that you are asking on a board like this and admitting to your addiction IS AMAZING! That is the first step to recovery!!
My ex didn't admit to his addiction (and all the other addictions he had, drugs, alcohol, etc..)
So you really are on your way to recovery in acknowledging that you may have a problem, you are VERY courageous!
Best of luck
Gamin is right. In fact the type of therapist you see is very important. They are refered to as Certified Sex Addiction Therapists and or a trauma Therapist would also be helpful.
In addition when you go back to the "Discussion lists" by clicking that title just above your discussion here in green, then go to the "Reccomendatuon" tab just above the Threads, in green to the right. When you click on that you will pull up a bunch of our reccomendatuons regarding books, CDs, videos and other types of therapis.
Good luck,

You are doing the best thing, please continue to work through your addiction, this is a great place to get support and help. An addiction is masking feelings and maybe other problems you cannot deal with.
I will say this again, I admire you xx
Just a short note to let you know that porn thrives best when we are down on ourselves, it loves shame, guilt and hatred towards ourselves.
So by saying it and bringing it out in the open you can then move away from it and it loses its grip on your life.As I read recently, the truth can be hurtful when exposed but its ability to heal is remarkable.
Now you can join a recovery program and learn to live without it. You can now start having a life you can share with others, devoid of shame or guilt.

I've struggled with porn, too. It was hurting my wife in addition to making me feel shitty. Once I started fighting it, it didn't completely go away. It was hard because I kept failing after a week or a month or three days. My wife pointed out that I was looking at way LESS porn than I previously had, once I started trying to stop.
Try to remember that it's not a switch you flip in yourself. It's a process. Maybe this month you will look at 20% less porn than in the past. Maybe this YEAR you will look at 50% less. Sometimes it will be two steps forward, one step back. Just don't give up the forward momentum.
Good luck, brother.
