Like most addiction it starts by recognizing you have a problem. Don't minimize that step. It's huge and i commend you on it. I personally recommend identifying your triggers. When do you turn to it most often, are you in a certain frame of mind, etc. Once you figure that out you can take steps for alternatives if it happens during certain times

Agreed, recognizing the addiction is huge. Don't let anyone shame or condemn you in seeking help. You are worth the help. As hard as it may be to make that first appt with a professional counselor, you are so worth it and there is hope for freedom!

Thanks, good practical step. JLynne I don’t know if I’d survive the shame of my wife discovering it. Going to a professional seems great, but I’d lose my family.

I wasnt so lucky. I had to let my wife know and she was surprisingly sympathetic. Even though our situation is grave we are working through it together and she holds me accountable

I think that you're here is a good start. I joined this support group on June. 04 and it has helped me. I have had setbacks since joining but it gives me a place to comeback to and realign myself with what I want to do.
