Hey,

New to this, but excited about the support. I've had a relapse after breaking my addition for 6 months. I am usually good with picking triggers and leaning on god to help me through. But, none the less I have given into temptation again. In need of some support and advice to get back on the right path.

Hey JG53, the first step was to identify and come back to your senses. Yesterday was a bit hard for me but I made it through. What I did was, I thought about how guilty I feel afterwards and of course I Prayed to get through the urge. Which thankfully got me through. I hope this could help.

Thanks, AR. Prayer helps, I just choose not to sometimes. That’s what always rips me up the most. My conscious decision to ignore what I know is right. I pray today is better for both of us.

Don’t let it rip you apart. You don’t want this to keep leading you back to it. Remember that prayer is not something that is difficult to do, it’s just a simple conversation. Keep up the good work! 6 months must feel great! Make it another 6months.

Your comment. “ My conscious decision to ignore what I know is right. “ is exactly what I play over in my head after a failed episode. Every time i have that internal dialogue. Every time I know I should give it to God. But I still sometimes give in. The consequences for me are my spiritual habits suffer. Because of a little shame and guilt my prayers slip, devotions slip. And I just have the general feeling of “ I can’t approach you God at this time. “. And when I face people close to me I think, “if you only knew what I’ve done.” Knowing all of this, I still sometimes give in.

So today I just say, “ I feel ya brother. Me too.”
