I live in NC. We had to go about it in a little bit of a different way than normal but our kids (mine and my husband's biological kids) live with us. Our DSS did investigation and found no concerns and his probation officer and sheriff's department are fully aware and ok with it.

My husband is a lifetime registered sex offender and we were living in IN. We moved to TN border for him to be able to live with his biological kids, we have 3. Not sure on how yours state parole is but even in IN they have a stipulation that allows for it but the parole officer has to ok it. My husbands PO was not budging so that is why we moved to TN but also TX allows for it. Hope that helps.

Colorado allows it

I think it is circumstantial based on the offense and how good your attorney is, and how sympathetic your prosecutor might be. In Illinois, the sex offender program specifically states that they are not allowed to live with minors, however, we petitioned for a variation from that and it was granted. In fact, we were granted a lot of variances from the traditional program because of so many extenuating circumstances that would have amounted to destruction of our family. That was what his accuser was going for, but thankfully she didn't get what she wanted there.
