My landlord raised my rent from $1181.00 a month to $1475.00 a month, effective December 1.  Supposed to give my 60 day notice by October 1 and so far have not found the right place for me to move to.  All the senior homes have over a year wait list.  All the regular apartments in my area are way over the HUD Payment Standard which I can't afford to pay the difference. 

I have been fighting this raise since I am currently living in a low income housing tax credit apartment. Thought I was protected against any big hikes in rental increases, but I'm not as Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher does not protect against these rate hikes.  I finally called my state Congressman who referred me to my local county supervisor who is over Section 8, since this is the program I am on.  So far have not heard any follow-up. 

Got permission from landlord to go month to month on my Lease after December 1, which in one way will be good for me because I only need to give a 30 day notice to move, but on the downside I have to pay the difference between HUDs Payment Standard of $1385 and my rent increase which raises my monthly rent another $171.00 a month more, which I don't have in my budget.

Battling a major depression.  Already it is showing in hygiene, wearing clothing that is disheveled, looking depressed and my neighbors are whispering about my condition, but I can't help it.  Getting out of bed is a major battle in the morning, but so far have defeated going back to bed and making my bed.  But committing to regular activities outside my apartment such as RummyKub, my card games, etc., I just can't be around people right now. 

I suffer from agraphobia/anxiety and major depression, so going outside my home right now is almost impossible.  I feel soo defeated.  I don't qualify for Medicaid, but then my state is cutting out a large portion of Medicaid in 2018.  Supposed to have bloodwork and need other medical tests conducted but finding that too much to face just right now.

My best friend has been very mean to me lately, very mean-spirited.  I can not cope with her being this way with me, so I had to take a break from her.  She attacks me verbally out of the blue.  I think she is beginning to suffer from signs of dementia, she's 84 and btw,I'm 66.  So, loosing her support has been an added stressor in my life as I would spend a great deal of time in her apartment sitting with her cat and just chatting the day away, but that is no longer an option for me. 

I did belong to a church, but I can't go there now as I'm too overwhelmed to be among all those people, so watch the sermons online. 

I dropped my cable TV and skinnied back on everything I can to meet the monthly rent but with my debt load with creditors, I can't do come up with the extra $171.00 a month.  I considered bankruptcy and contacted a legal aid resource but since I am on social security, they do not work with people that receive that type of income and I can't find an attorney that will represent me probono. 

I am out of options, so I pray, that's the only thing I can do and as the days pass and nothing transpires, I feel I am running out of time.
