Senior Health & Aging Support Group
Aging is an important part of all human societies reflecting the biological changes that occur, but also reflecting cultural and societal conventions. There is often considerable social pressure in many societies to sustain denial of the aging process. Join this community to discuss general issues with aging and senior health.
Well here I am happy for the first time in my life and not knowing what to do next? Between being sexually abused as a child and being raised by an excessivly narcissistic parent, both led to me being excessively anxious and nervous 24/7 pretty much and ended up in a seemingly wasted life. Now all is well....everybody forgiven and my anxiety more manageable. So I'm happy. But now, how do I make the most of this freedom at my age as a senior? Luckily I don't feel old and I'm starting to learn that I enjoy reading and the internet for the most part. I'd love to meet people and have some meaningful relationships. This figuring out "WHO am I " will take some time, a year or to. But that is a lot of time at my age(61). I'm afraid of being a waste of a person, though I know I'm not and all of what happenned ,mentionned above was not of my consent. So what do I do next? I'm looking for the express route when it seems I'll have to take the milk run and it is driving me mad at times. At least my life is mine. That is a true blessing, and I'm not a waste of a person. That too is a good thing. Especially the latter now. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for reading. :)
