How come no body writes in this group? Too busy dating? Well I'm not! Up until a few months ago I was very busy with online dating and a long distance "relationship". When I thought that was going to go somewhere I deleted all of my online profiles to focus primarily on work and Mr. LD. But after several moments of clarity I have also deleted him. Now the silence of my email account, phone and texts is deafening. I can't return to something that wasn't working for me but man this is very hard, quiet and lonely. Lori
That you had some active time with lots of activity was thereby outside of the norm.
This website DS sends us updates regularly (at least I get them) so any comment posted is available to the entire group to see.
Some times it is rather hard just to dream up some thing to say in a comment.
There is also the possibility that all of us over 50 are hardheaded and stubborn and set in our ways that we can not get along - maybe?
It is interesting to me that you stop being "Too Busy" and THEN find out that things are quiet and lonely, because I have known many people (especially women) who stay far too busy, as they volunteer for all sorts of stuff as if life is going to pass them by, and then they will not go out on any "Date" or fraternizing because they do not have any time to spare.
For me (and I think for most men) is that we do not volunteer or do stuff just so that if we do get into a relationship then we want to have the spare time available - I certainly think that way.
I even went to a local over 50 singles group and all they did was play cards and go out to eat and usually the men divided onto one side and the Ladies went onto the other side, and when I said that I wanted to play cards with the Ladies then they all blushed and giggled like embarrassed children.
As such I see you as being very wise to STOP the being "too busy" and to start facing the quiet and loneliness because that is the reality and it is not so terrible as people imagine.
