take your time and don't over exert yourself with the shoveling.
It is funny how the storm cuts a line in the ground so that one side gets smothered in snow while the other side gets nothing.
I am in southern MD which is close to DC and thereby close to the center of that storm so my snow is 2 feet deep in the low spots with 4 feet drifts based on the strong winds last night.
To day it is cold 22 but the sun is shining and the wind has stopped.
The main roads are plowed but my small back road is still covered in snow, but I expect a plow truck to come through today.
The News reports that 4 people have died while shoveling the snow and the News does not tell why they died so I am guessing a heart attack or some thing similar, because shoveling snow is hard work.
I have already done a lot of shoveling today until I was tired out, and now I wait to rest while on my computer before I go out later to finish my snow shoveling.
It is very hard to gauge how much is too much exertion, and I am going on 60 in a couple months and I do not want to die just yet.
Cross-country skiing has always sounded like fun to me, but never did it.
My driveway is shoveled but the road in front of my house has been roughly plowed but still has snow patches all over it.
The main roads are plowed under State maintenance while I live on a secondary road under County maintenance, and my own driveway is my own problem.
The temperature today is going up to 34 by 11am and to 44 by 3pm and tonight is 34-35 so the BIG melting is beginning. When it get above 32 degrees it melts, but the sun shines melts it too even when below 32.
The schools and gov offices are all closed today but shopping is open, and so I can drive out if i really wanted to do so, but I have no real plan until tomorrow and I will go out them.
Now it is the time to enjoy the cold and the snow as the emergency is over.
