Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
The more obvious answer would be, perhaps trying to stop cutting would be a better idea. Seeing a Therapist that can give you some alternative coping skills and learn new safe, healthy behaviors for dealing with the stress, pain, fear, anxiety, life crap that is generally the reason we cut, would be a great idea.
Cutting is a learned behavior that we use to handle emotions that we don't know how to handle otherwise, until we actively "learn" new behaviors to replace the bad ones. It takes work, but it can be done successfully.
I hope you stay safe and seriously consider trying to get help for the cutting.
Take care,
Kat
