Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
Hope things are going better. How did the meetings with your therapist and psychiatrist go?
Im sorry that this is happening to you and Im not doubting it must be scary especially if you've never experienced it before.
I dealt with thoughts like that most of my life. It will help if you begin to recognize / remind yourself that these thoughts are not you. They are part of your affliction, your mental struggle (whatever that categorizes as for you), and thoughts alone can not do anything to you. One therapist explained it to me well. She said what is a thought, really? Its just a spark, something going through your head as one of those split second communications between different parts of your brain. They dont need to mean anything more than that.
We can never control all the things that pop into our mind but we can control how we deal with them and that is what matters.
This post was a few days ago so you probably already went to your doctor, which is exactly what you should do in this situation.
Keep us posted! I hope you find relief soon
