It's unfortunate to hear such a caring young man like yourself is going through such a rough time. I feel like I can relate to the feeling of your parents finding out you self harm. I remember clear as day when my mine found out and it is was a horrible time. It was when my self harm was at it's worse and in hind site it was for the best. Even though I still wish to this day they never found out, lets be real, they were going to find out eventually. This is the perfect opportunity to get everything out on the table and be as open and honest as you feel comfortable.
As always, stay strong, you are worth so much and remember that it is a hard thing for them to understand. Very hard. So they might not know what the best thing to do or say is.
Best wishes Ben.
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I hear you saying that part of the reason you cut is because of them, but if its making them feel sad to know that you do it, then it sounds like they really do care about you and how you feel.
Do you think you could talk to them about what they are doing that is stressing you out so much? Try presentencing it in a way that deemphasizes the cutting part and focuses on how stressed you are. It may be hard for them to understand that cutting is just a symptom of a larger problem, but by focusing on the core problem maybe they could make some positive changes.
I know this is all so much easier said then done, and I hope you all the best. Be strong my friend, you can get through this.
