Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
and when they did get rough i would often cry about it instead of internalising things, and i kept a diary as well. but probably the one thing that helped me through it the most was taking 5 seconds to just stop and ask myself why i feel so bad that i want to hurt myself again just before i decide to.
normally with self harm the psychological pain and termoil that we're going through is so strong that we can only think what we have to do to make it stop. butt if you just give yourself 5 seconds and ask why am i feeling like this? and explore what it is, you can deal with the answer. better yet journal it down!
This helped me understand where it was coming from, and it gave me something to constructively deal with. so i was making the ISSUE better that was causing all the agony. hope this helps!
