Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
I know the opinions and ways of everyone else varies, but while you feel ashamed of yourself, you shouldn't. It happens, and the best thing you can do is find ways to not let it happen again. While you feel ashamed, think of this. In the end, every scar you hold tells a story, and it creates whom you are. I've learned this over the years, and yet I will admit; I sometimes still self harm when I cannot find a way to get through it. I'm way past 20 years of age. I just try to use my artwork, write in a journal, go for a long walk and listen to music that I know would not make matters worse. I even have a cat that is an ESA (Emotional Support Animal) That I will cuddle when I feel really down, because for me; finding support is basically non existent.
You will always have the support of someone, even if you have a friend in person that you can talk to, and simply tell them about it. Sometimes you feel like you are trapped and have no escape from your own mind or emotions, and sometimes that is true. But reaching out to someone, whether online or in person when you think of just.. needing to self harm; it can help in the end.
I hope my words are somewhat effective with helping you out dear! If you ever need to talk, you can always throw me a message!
