Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
I've also really considered smoking instead of self injuring. There are a lot of people in my family that smoke and now have big health problems. Even my 18 year old sister smokes and I hate seeing her do that. I hate seeing anyone in my family smoke.
So, before you decide to make a big habit out of it, think about what your friends and family would think and about the long term consequences.
I definitely don't recommend it, smoking can be just as damaging for your health as self injuring. Maybe there's someone you can talk to about it?
I'm here to talk if you ever need to.
But on the other hand I feel like I've tried everything else, I'm 17 and I can't see a therapist or go on meds privately (so my parents aren't involved) till I'm 18. I just thought maybe I could try it... maybe, I don't know :(
