What's your favorite excuse to use when someone asks about a cut? I don't use excuses anymore. I just tell them it's what they think it is, then move on.

No one should have to go through the struggle of SI yet at the same time, I have found myself arguing that it is no different than smoking, drinking or doing drugs (I think that sometimes I just like to pretend like its not a problem, even though I know that it is).

Why do you cut? I did it to avoid feeling overwhelming emotions, to avoid thinking about painful memories, or thoughts, to avoid shame, and pain. I did it to feel something anything on the nights i felt numb, i did it to shut my brain up when it was seemingly on non stop activity, i did it to sleep, i did it to punish myself, i did it to see blood, i did it to take control and have something that no one knew i did, i did it for some sick gratification i suppose

How many times have you tried to commit suicide? Tried to? Never, and I never will. Thought about it? At times. But I think thinking about it just helps me calm down when i get super upset

Why do you cut? Well. I dont now. woah man that sounds so strange still...anywayyyys...I used to cut for a variety of reasons, but the main thing that I didnt realize at the time that I know now is a lot of my cutting stemmed from just letting my emotions control me, and so during these past 5 weeks that I've been clean I just started forcing myself to not act on it when I got upset and to just sit with it...which has helped a lot. its still hard because i still feel like i deserve it at times, and at times i want to for the feeling of control but oh well

What do you like to listen to while cutting or while your depressed? Um actually I didnt listen to music whenever i had cut, i felt weird doing that. I've managed to not be so depressed for a while now but I used to listen to songs that explained how i felt.
Have you been diagnosed with depression/bipolar/PTSD? Not officially anything. But I'd bet money on seasonal depression, I also have ADD and my thrapist said that could've been a part of why I had/have trouble with being impulsive
Do you have to wear long-sleeves & long-pants all the time? Nope Last winter and into the spring I was stuck in sleeves for a while but with it being winter it didnt matter and when spring started coming i was so used to wearing sleeves i felt weird without them for a while
What are your views on cutting, and other self-injury? Its not healthy, but if someone is doing it it doesnt make them a bad person either. its taken me a while to see that for myself though. And also sometimes its the only way they know how to get by, which is eh ok i guess but they should get help.
Whats your favorite excuse to use when someone asks about a cut? Um that is the wrong question! I'm sneaky remember? So people never see my cuts. Scars on the other hand...well it doesnt get brought up very often. Generally my response is just "im in therapy" which implies them being once self-inflicted so i dont have to say it, or just say its a long story and try to change the subject.
