Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
Your self-harm does not define you. It's not who you are. It's a part of your life, but it isn't necessarily a part of you. The first step towards recovery is acknowledging that it's a problem. You have considered recovering, and that in itself, is amazing. It takes time, and it's not easy. Try to find something that helps you. Hobbies, distractions, whatever works for you, and keep working at it. Whenever you need to self-injure, try thinking, "if I still feel this way in an hour or so, then I'll do it." It doesn't stop you from injuring yourself, but completely depriving yourself of it only makes the urge to do it even worse, so start gradual. Maybe the urges will stop by the time an hour passes. It might help you regulate it.
Good luck.
