Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
Things that I've used in replacement: meditation (big help), watching funny shows/ movies (there really is something to be said for comic relief.) I also started working out, which was not meant to be a diversion from the cutting... but I found, as a sort of "side effect," that it calmed my cutting urges. I think, again, that it has to do with the endorphin release.
Also, I have anger issues and I'm bipolar so that triggers it because I get angry easily and it's my outlet.
Another thing that makes it worse is my OCD because I can't do just one cut I have to do at least 6 because that's my number...
Also, bullying&&rumors but thats a different story.
Having said this, I'm getting stressed at the moment over things I need to get done before I move in with Dad at the beginning of October. I'll also be leaving a lot of friends and I'm feeling guilty about various things. All this could cause me to SI.
