I don't know what's wrong with me, I don't have reasons to be sad or upset but I still self-harm. It's not as dramatic as cutting, but I cut off circulation to my hands, hard, so it hurts and leaves a mark. I've been told to stop by my boyfriend, he doesn't like it but he doesn't press it, which I'm grateful for, because I couldn't. It stables my anxiety, I reckon.
I tried for blood yesterday. I found a screw and dug it into my arm - I think this is becoming a regular thing too. There isn't any blood, the screw isn't sharp enough. That's annoying.
I can't stop and I want to want to stop.

i'm sorry that you're struggling.....if you want blood have you tried the red marker??? that works for some people.....you use a red marker and "cut" with it....it gives the illusion of blood.....wanting to stop and recover can take some time, but in order to want to you need to realize that there are different ways to relieve your anxiety.....it takes time to find the coping sill that works for you....for me it's word searches.....i'm really good at them and my mind focuses on finding those words.....maybe stretching could help you....that helped me for a little while.....i felt the burn of the muscles and it helped......i hope this helped....if you wanna talk, please feel free to message me

It sounds like you are just having a tough time managing your anxiety. If you could find something to replace hurting yourself to calm yourself down, that might help you. Breathing exercises actually physically settle your brain down and calms your nerves. Like valgal said, if you want blood the red marker thing could work. I've down that before with pen and it helped me.

I've done breathing exercises and muscle tensing-relaxing exercises. Not much help. I'll try the red marker and stretching, though. Thanks.

This may sound dumb but I do the red marker thing with a red sharpie. Then it stays and fades kind of like a cut.

The streching doesn't seem to work. I'd like to try the red marker properly, I'd end up drawing up and down my arms, but my dad hates me painting myself with pens and I don't want them to know I hurt myself.
