Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
It's been getting worse over the years, probably because of the OCD/thought disorder if I have one.
The only thing I can suggest... which may or may not help is... that if you find satisfaction in self hurt... convince yourself that the opposite is your punishment... that by not hurting yourself you are punishing yourself by not allowing yourself satisfaction from the hurt. It's worth a try.
Other than that... self discipline (but pssh everyone says that nowadays and how easy is it to have that? It's not.)... refuse to hurt yourself... refuse the clip... tell the clip that it's not making you any more accepting to other people and that it should go bug off. Maybe try something less hurtful like a thin (but not too thin) rubber band... keeping it with you wherever you go no matter what (like on your wrist) and sling shot it on your stomach when you feel urges to cut it.
Hang in there. Im assuming your in high school or middle school... people can be real jerks then. People in your school can be real dipshits and sometimes you can feel like no one gets it. And parents well they can really suck but YOU are worth the struggle to keep going. Dont let other people decide your worth, the worth of your feelings or your thoughts or your struggles.
It was always a harsh lesson, but sometimes if no one in the world around you is going to be there for you the way you need it - sometimes you just have to be your own best friend and treat yourself well. It might not sound like much but the more you have your own back and try to treat yourself with the kindness you think others would you will be on the right road.
What your parents are doing to you is wrong and dont let them convince you otherwise. You are definitely being mistreated...Maybe you could go to the guidance department at your school. When I was in school they werent helpful for a lot but once they became aware of some of my problems when I was hospitalized for an ED they were a good back up to at least be able to stay in therapy when my parents tried to take that away. So if you let them in on your cutting at least, they can make your folks get you a therapist and keep it up. I know from the sound of it it could stir up a lot of shit with your parents. But that therapy can be what gets you out of this hell. To help you deal with your parents. If things get real bad, that therapist could be your ticket out of there entirely.
Dont give up. Things can get better if you keep fighting for yourself.
