Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
Best thing to do is talk and keep yourself busy, and no matter what dont go and get a new stash of tools to harm yourself...
When I first stopped cutting I gave it up for 2 years and it was a struggle at first.. I always wanted to cut.. I had it on my mind all the time, but that thought faded and I learned to cope in other ways... so it was not something that popped into my mind as much... However there was the days that I really wanted to cut and I was about to say forget it I am giving in.. but I held on. So know you will have those days later on but they are not like an everyday thing...
I did after two years give in and had a relapse but I got back on track and I have been clean for a little over a year now.
I still have bad days and sometimes I think about taking a blade and cutting but I think to myself why? do I want to live like that or do I want to stay strong and keep fighting and go forward. I am very forward type of person, I dont want to go backwards there is nothing good about my life to want to go backwards, I only want to go forwards. I remind myself on the days that I think one cut wont hurt.. That I went this long without cutting I have made it through and have come so far I am not going to allow this thought to win. And I fight my thoughts, and sometimes I need help, talking to friends, talking to therapist, venting on here... just to get my feelings out.
Hang in there its hard at first but it gets better easier and you will become so much stronger!!
Hugs!!!!
Good luck!
