I might as just stay there. I can't handle the saddness in my heart, fear of people at work, and living alone. Sometimes I just want to sell everything I have and move into a state hospital.I so want to cut but if my Dr. or therapist finds out in I go. I'm always honest. But I want to see my son for Christmas. I hope on the Grace of God to get me to him on Christmas before I cut again.

I used to cut. It acted like a tranquilizer for me. Sometimes I would feel so depressed and full of hopelessness, loneliness and sadness that I felt like I wanted to explode. When I cut it was like popping a balloon and I felt better. We cut because feeling the momentary physical pain is better than feeling the long lasting emotion pain. But you have to get out of this mindset. You may not be able to change your circumstances, your work or living alone, but you do have control over whether your mutilate your body or not. Medication may help but in the long run the only way you're going to stop cutting is when you no longer feel the need to. That's going to take time and work. So get to it. Your son does not need to see you in this condition. Get out, develop a new attitude toward work (why do you fear them? The only one you have to worry about pleasing is the one who signs your paycheck!), go to church, help someone else (that always gets you out of your own head). Please don't sell everything and move into a state hospital. Believe me, you won't like it there and you probably won't see much of your son. You will be in my prayers. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Make up in your own mind that next year will be different and your New Year's resolution could be not to cut anymore. BTW, there are places that you can call just to talk. They're not crisis lines but they're their for people who just want to discuss their feelings or just to vent. There called "warm lines" I don't know if you've heard of them or not. If you type in key words "warm lines" it should lead you to a site in your city. Whenever you feel like cutting give them a call. They help people before it gets to the crisis stage. Good luck and God bless.

You obviously have things to look forward to, your son. I agree with taz, put your focus on you by helping others. When i get the urge I have been doing some breathing exercises and its helping. I was in a sych hospital for a few days and thats one of the reasons I havent cut in days. Stay strong for you and your family. Merry Christmas and Happy NEW Year. Hugs
