Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
Why would they send you to jail if you cut? That just makes no sense to me.
Is there anyone there you can talk to that isn't judgmental and that would at least try to understand? And you are right that exercise doesn't always just fix everything because I try to do that too and sometimes it just isn't enough.
I hope your friends child will be okay,
Can you ring your friend? I know it's not the same as being there physically but still it's something and I'm sure your friend will find some comfort in that.
Hope you're okay, stay strong.
You dont have the coping skills that you should have for whatever reason, may that be not learning them or falling into self harm for whatever your reason was back then.
Now after a while of cutting it forms an addiction. So thats were you are something happens were it triggers you need to harm. Its like being addicted to drugs or alcohol. its an addiction and has to be dealt with just like so.. its hard I know I am addicted to cutting, been cut free for just over 2 months now. and its so hard not to cut, I went a two years cut free once, and had a relapse, I have also been addicted to drugs still am but I have been clean for over 1 year but its still a struggle. So in short cutting is an addiction.
