Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
I don't think not being able to talk to a Pdoc or Tdoc is weakness per se, more of a disability to trust. If you don't have a good and trusting relationship with your Tdoc, odds are you won't tell them about all of your issues, and usually the most serious are the ones that get left out. Have you considered seeing a different Tdoc? One that suits you more....
If you like your Dr. and have a good relationship but still can't get that trust in to tell them about everything, you might consider writing things down about your SI and Suicidal feelings and give her what you wrote, that way she can as you questions and it doesn't seem so hard to just come out with it.
With these constant thoughts of wanting to end your life, try not to be alone too much, isolating oneself can accelerate those feelings and make you think it's easy to take care of. Try to be around people that you love and care for, people that will give you feelings of care and a sense that you belong. If your on meds, you might talk to your Dr. about them, sometimes psych meds can make suicidal feelings worse.
Take care,
Kat
