Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
When hitting isn't enough, I've been known to scratch shapes into my skin with a fingernail file or a blunted knife. Tonight, I laid outside in the snow until the cold was beyond painful.
You are not alone. I wish I could say the socially acceptable crap: "don't do it, you are worth more than that, etc etc," but I'd be such a hypocrite for saying it when I do the same thing.
Just know that you truly are NOT alone. Do not be afraid to ask for help first, if you are in a position to be able. I know there are many of us here who would be glad to listen and validate your emotions.
