Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
2) rubberband around wrist to snap
3) hold ice dyed red on place you want to cut
4) Use red marker to draw cuts
5) exercise to release endorphins
6) talk to therapist
7) Do the "I can make it just one more minute" thing...see how many minutes you can go.
8)Journal or draw about your pain inside or about wanting to cut
9) Realize you are going to be scarred for life.
10)Go inpatient if it gets too severe or you cant stop. There are actually meds that make it so you dont get that good "high" feeling from injuring yourself.
11)shred up a pair of old jeans that dont fit anymore and paint red on the cuts then throw it away.
12)Make a contract with a therapist of friend or family member that you wont cut and the consequences if you do.
13)Dont wear long sleeves, it makes you more aware of the damage you and others see and want to stop.
14)Get your favorite scented body lotion and rub it on your arms to soothe yourself and care for your body.
15) Take a bubble bath with candles and nice music when you feel like cutting. It will put you into a relaxed mood in a healthy way.
16)Get rid of your "tools", Actually throw them away outside in a dumpster.
