Self-Injury Support Group
Whether you or someone you know or love struggles with self-injury, this is the community to discuss your experience, find support, meet others going through the same, and get advice on how to stop. Working together, we can help find alternative coping skills to reduce the urge to self-harm.
When things become overwhelming I bite my fists or my arms to the point of leaving indented marks. I also pull my hair out and punch anything hard that won't break. (i.e., concrete... or my beat up car... which I ended up denting, so that doesn't count in the "won't break" area.) or in worst case scenarios, I start banging my head into something hard. It's awful, but I've had quite a past few years...
I stopped cutting a while ago for the love of my life, then I failed this past year after having over a year without cutting... promised him I would never do it again. And I intend on keeping that promise. He know's about the biting/punching/hair pulling and that makes him feel awful as well but he knows i'm at a point where it's almost a natural reaction for me when things become too overwhelming... God Bless him, he tries to help calm me down and stop me. I still don't know how I deserve him. I feel terrible that he has to go through all this with me.
But anyway (sorry, having a horrid night) it's a possibility. From my studies of self-harm, it does constitute as a form of it... anything resulting in injury to oneself with the knowledge of doing so really constitutes as self harm, though many people don't know this.
Hugs to you, take care
