So I've told my therapist that I've been having suicidal thoughts and that I thought it could have been the medication because it started when we upped the dosage and I had also said that I think it could be stress because I am very stressed out lately but when I told her, she just only recommended that I see a therapist. I had one but I had to stop going because she didn't take my insurance so now I'm stuck with this one and I'm not a big fan of her to be honest. I'm not sure why but I just don't like her that much. Anyway, last week I was okay with these thoughts but now they seem to be getting worse and worse and honestly, all I can think about is just killing myself. Why you ask? Well I rather honestly do that if I can't get into my dream college in NYC in September. I'm stressing out on how I'll be able to pay for it and stuff. So if you were to ask me what my plan b is if I can't get into the college, the answer is to kill myself. And I don't want it to be but like, isn't that a little too selfish? I honestly have never had thoughts like this before but they seem to be often now and like it seems that nobody cares. I don't know what the heck I am going to do. I just want things to magically work out for me. Like I can win the lottery or something. Or someone can just take me off of this god damn medication. Any suggestions?

Can you find a new doctor? Obviously they are not listening to you. And if you really think it's the medication you could wean yourself off of it. Just don't stop it all at once.

Dont stop it all at once you will go through a withdrawal and that will make you feel really crappy. If your doctor is not willing to work with you, speak to the person above them about your concerns. If that fails then ask to see another doctor, or in the worse case go to a walk in or the ER and tell them that you need this medication and want to come off it. And tell them what your doctor said. Any doctor should know which meds need to be taken off with lower doses... unless you are at the lowest dose in that case it would not be an issue, but other then that, you need to be taken off just like you would have started the meds slowly. so they have time to get out of your system slowly and not just a shock of no longer taking them anymore.

In NY there is a suicide help line. One of my friends had the same problem as you do now. Not exactly alike but very similar. She too did not like the Doc she had so she called it. They set her up with another one that did take her insurance and listened to her. I don't know if this will help you but it is worth a try.

I understand how you feel, I went through a stage where I had dreams I couldn't ever really fill, I felt if I didn't achieve them I'd kill myself, I've spent the last 7 years soul searching though, I came to terms with life, I'm completely fine living with just a dead end job, making enough money to meet the rent and alittle left over for fun and expenses. What's important is your friends, family and yourself, don't sell yourself short, even if you don't make it into your dream college, you are always going to be brilliant, if they don't accept you, get into the next best one, do that college proud and make the other college regret not picking you, you deserve it. :)
