I don't know what to do, my sister tried to cut herself the other day. I can't help but wonder if it is all my fault. What if I exposed her to it?? I feel so bad. What if she picks up on all my other bad habits? I don't want her to do what I do.

You could talk to her and tell her that just because you do it, doesn't mean it will solve her problems. Maybe if you just talk to her and tell her why you do it, she'll understand.

I know exactly how you feel love, I've been self-injuring for seven years now, and my little sister is three years younger than me, we have a really good relationship, but i recently found out that she self injured before, not to the extent of mine,but it still bothers me you know? My parents just recently put her in therapy for everything she's been through. I can't help but blame my self for what shes becoming. I've been taken away from her so many times, because I've been put in the hospital, multiple times. When i say multiple i mean around fifteen times.--
You really, really have to talk to her about these things. My sister dosen't really open up to me about things like this, as a matter of fact she dosen't open up to anyone besides her therapist. but you should really talk to her before things start to go down hill. No body would want that. I dont believe its your fault. Not at all. OUr first reaction is to blame ourselves...dont because it is not your fault. Talk to her about it. Help eachother get through this. Lean on eahcother for strength.

When i was 17 i tried to keep my cutting hidden from my 15 year old sister , then eventually when i told her she lifted her sleeves to reveal fresh cuts on her. Turns out shed been cutting for months, im so glad i told her because i was able to get her into counselling at the same service i was going to. So maybe she didnt learn it from you, but started cause of some of her own problems. maybe you could talk to her and try to get her help too? Good luck
