DOES ANYONE STILL HAVE THAT NUMB FEELING IN YOUR BACK? I HAD THE SCOLIOSIS SURGERY IN FEB 2007 AND I STILL HAVE THAT NUMBNESS.
DOES IT EVER GO AWAY?????????

my surgeon told me there would be a faily large triangle on my back where i would never feel again, The feeling came back with stimulation a little more than a year after. My friends were funny about it, they liked to help out so they would gently rub or scratch my back for me and it came back. But when in doubt ask your surgeon!

I had surgery in 1984. I had some numbness for over a year but it did get better. Try message with some lotion.

i had my operation 15 years ago this may, i just started getting sensation back and now i have to get another surgery...which is okay because it had been so long having the feeling back it is kinda creepy.

I had surgery in 1993 and I still have numb spots all over my back, im sure it will never go away

I don't know which surgery you speak of, but when I went to have my spinal cord detethered from my hip in '01, my left side suddenly got numb, and still is.

i have about 6 inches on either side of my scar that i still can't feel 2

I had my first surgery in 1977, than in 1980 and the last one in 1982 and have never had any numbness in my back. I only had and still have numbness in the back of my right thigh. And that isn't that bad as is use to be. I have had the rods taken out, my all my spine fused by bone chips from scraped from my hips and have my spinal cord fixed for I have also spina bifada (sorry on spelling). I only have what look like climbing hooks. I am 41 years old now.

I had the rods surgery two years ago, and I too had numb spots. Not just on my back either, I had some on my stomach and thigh from being on the table for over seven hours ( at least that's the reason the doctors gave me) They've gotton better, though. Now they just feel similar to when you had a cavity filled and your mouth was numbed, but the feeling is coming back? If that makes any sense.

Mine were kinda tender and they tingled slightly when the feeling started coming back, but I was told that's normal.

mine was a little over a year ago and i still have numb spots but i don't think they'll ever go completly away.
