hi im 15 and in the middle of the school last year i was told by the school nurse that i might have scoliosis. My mom decided to take me to a doctor in tampa he has really good reviews well in september i had my next check up with him but then we got a hurrican so we couldnt make it. Last tuesday we got the chance to go i had to take x-rays agin and come to find out in the spand of the time i hadnt gone my back had gotten worse so bad that i now need a brace im not sure how ill feel in a brace but my mom told me to reach out and find a support group which i did. So can anyone tell me how it feels to sleep in a brace if you have a cool design on it let me know cause i kinda wanna get mine to look like armor! I really wanna know what i should expect when i get mine. btw i have an s curve if you need to know.

I can't tell you how much you should be happy to have a very affectionate mother to make sure you had it checked out. I can't say anything on the back brace, but I hope you wear it like armor. It is meant to protect you and your back, just like armor. :)

yeah, i have been given the chance to wear a brace too. Really nervous about the whole situation. Stay strong about the whole situation and im here if you need

It feels like teeth braces but for your back. They hurt at the beginning but you get used to them. The same goes for the back brace. It's a little bit harder to wear it at night. You have to find a position that doesn't hurt much. Sometimes you wake up with numb arms and legs. Always wear an undershirt beneath it to avoid rashes. The first time you wear the brace feels like you're wearing an armour and it's hard to move but you'll get used to it. Wear it for the whole time that the doctor told you and try not to take it off unless it's really necessary because if you do once, you will do it again. And the most important thing : YOU HAVE TO EXERCISE DAILY because if you don't your muscles will weaken and your scoliosis will progress.
