Hello everyone,  I am so happy I found ya'll.  My daughter Mary was born with infantil scoliosis.  Her curve was 45-49 degrees.  At age 9-12 months she received casting for her back by Dr. Paul Rubery in Rochester New York.  We flew there about every 2-3 months until her curve was down to 10 degrees.  Unforunatley her father and I let the ball drop and did not put her in regular scheduled brace until her curve got back up to 20 degrees.  The Doctor my ex, her father,  was taking her to said we'll just wait and see how she does.  I was like heck we will.  I immediatley set up an appointment for her to get fitted for a brace.  She is now 9 years and has 25 degree curve.  She has been wearing a back brace for the past couple of years and it has kept her curve the same 25 degrees.  Infact as I'm reading all your post I'm telling her to put on her brace!!!!  She wears it to school and to bed.  She has a break time after school and when she wakes up in the morning.  

I have been reading on the new excercises they do now for scoliosis.  Have any of you ever done that sort of thing.  It is called scolio smart.  It says that scoliosis is a brain thing and we need to teach the brain how to stand straight and correct the curve.  Not saying, just repeating. They say braces are out dated.  I talked to her Dr. yesterday and he said that is not true.  So She will stay in a back brace until she stops growing.  I would love to hear from everyone about your experiences and insight.  My daughter is my hero.  For anyone saying that you deserved scoliosis, that is so not true.  My daughter got hers from my fathers side ogf the family.  My uncle had it.  More than likely, I'm thinking it is pasted down from generation to generation.
