Sciatica Support Group
Sciatica is a term meaning pain that originates from compression of the sciatic nerve, the longest and largest nerve in the body. If the sciatic nerve is pinched or compressed (perhaps by a bulging disc in the low back) a patient may experience leg pain--the classic symptom of sciatica.
I went under the knife 06/26/2019, a bone graft was done as well. Turns out, the sciatic was damaged beyond repair, the surgeon injured 2 other nerves and the bone graft did not take. I am now in more pain than ever before. The active lifestyle I once had is gone. I am on pain killers now and will be for the rest of my life. I am now having to get hip injections. I can not lay on my back, I turn from right to the left side. I lay down about 95% of my day. Since surgery, I am unable to sit without bracing myself. Traveling is terrible for me. I walk with a cane. The Dr ran short on time and stated he would have to have me come back to finish the surgery, then retracted the comment and said there was nothing more he could do. I went to a very well known hospital in Oregon, the Dr had a BA at Harvard and internship at the Mayo clinic. He even said I had a very complex case and nothing they could do.
The attorney I called to sue for negligence said I had 2yrs form the surgery date to file for a case.
So now, I am very limited and very disabled at the age of 51...
