Sciatica Support Group
Sciatica is a term meaning pain that originates from compression of the sciatic nerve, the longest and largest nerve in the body. If the sciatic nerve is pinched or compressed (perhaps by a bulging disc in the low back) a patient may experience leg pain--the classic symptom of sciatica.

sorry I am just a lot of questions.
2 months ago I was diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome, a year after being diagnosed with DOMS ( Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) after speed walking for only 10 min. (I am a senior, but used to walking 2 miles daily) The DOMS subsided after several months without treatment.
In October, I thought DOMS had returned with a vengeance. I do not know if I was misdiagnosed last year or if the DOMS caused PS. At any rate, I saw a sports ortho doctorr... have had a few chiropractor treatments which lessoned the spasms temporarily and just started P.T. 2 X week, as well as home strengthening & stretching exercises.
A Motrin, Alieve or Advil takes the edge off so I'm not limping as badly.
The ortho doc said if P/T doesn't help, he'll give me a cortesone injection. We shall see.
