Hi doug, I was looking at all the communities you have here at Daily Strenght and fell upon this one.
Funny you should ask about the Ibuprofen, just yesterday I purchase this new kind of meds which I have no idea how it works.
Will definately give you feed back on it, hope it works, cause I've been taking oxycontin for 4 months now for other aches and pains and it didn't work on my hip.
So hopefully it will do the trick.

ive been taking ibuprofen for a while but it just doesnt seem to do much at all.

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD SOMETHING. I WAS IN THE E.R. LAST WEEK FOR A BAD BOUT WITH SCIATICA. THEY GAVE ME AN INJECTION OF TORADOL WHICH HELP ABOUT 80%. THE DR. SAID HE COULD NOT WRITE A SCRIPT FOR IT(WHICH I LATER FOUND OUT WAS A LIE) HE WROTE A SCRIPT FOR IBUPROFEN 800 MGS. IF I TAKE IT WITH TYLENOL AND CODEINE AND A SOMA, I GET MINIMAL RELEIF FOR A SHORT TIME. THE PAIN NEVER GOES AWAY AND THIS IS GOING ON 2 WEEKS OR SO. I FEEL LIKE I CAN'T SHOVE ENOUGH PILLS DOWN MY THROAT TO STOP THIS PAIN. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? IS THERE AN EXCERCISE OR MAYBE MASSAGE OR HEAT(COLD) TREATMENT. I'M DESPERATE AT THIS POINT. I have been taking it in a combination of Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Neurontin, and Ultram, for 2yrs, together I can function most days just around the house, but the pain is always there. If I run out of any of these 4 meds I am in deep trouble, but I have other problems also. I think Ibuprofen works because it is an anti-inflammatory drug and works on the pain not the brain. As a nurse I have found that some drugs mask pain be route of the brain, that is not what I want. I want to avoid narcs as much as possible. But if it comes down to it sometimes I have to go get a shot of narcs at the ER. I don't understand whay a doctor would not give a script for Toradol but it can not be mixed with Ibuprofen.

I worked in a pain management Doctors office for six years and we had a patient come in and tell us that (actually her husband told us) she lost her hearing from Ibuprofen. Please try an everson table for your pain. you buy them at walmart for about 129 dallors and it will put your discs back in place and your nerves back in place it did for my son and my sister. this table flips you upside down , you must have someone there to help you and you can be on it for at least a couple of minutes use it at least twice a day, my son used it three times a day but please try it and do not get hooked on pain meds.

Ibuprofen didn't do the trick for me, actually it was like I wasn't even taking it, and it may mess the stomach if not taken with attention.

Ibuprofen was completely useless.

I have been using Ibuprofen for my pain and it really works.
