My psych official diagnosed me a long time ago as having schizo affective disorder. It controls and runs my life. I find it almost impossible to live my daily life. I prefer sleeping through the day in order to avoid my feelings. I don't know what to do with myself anymore. I was at the point of cutting myself before. It did it and ended up in the psych ward at the hospital for a couple nights. At this rate i'll end up back there.

Are you bipolar sza or clinically depressed sza? I was diagnosed before with the depressed type and I was just like you. Miserable, sad, hurting, cutting, hating life. But then I got help and started to really try and help myself. I dont stay in bed because I know that makes me feel worse in the long run. I cut myself for many years and have awful scars that I wouldn't wish on anyone. If you have ever seen "Nightmare Before Christmas" then you will know what I mean when I say I feel like Sally with all my suture marks. I stopped doing that about 3 years ago. I struggled for so long. Probably from about 13 to 38. This month I am turning 39 and I can honestly say I am okay with life and myself. I have my ups and downs but more ups than downs. I have tried tons of different meds and my current pdoc has just found a perfect combo for me. It will happen for you too. You just have to keep fighting and not give in to the bad feelings. You will get control over your life again. It just takes a lot of patience and perserverence. Don't give up.

In my time, the meds were not very good. The meds today are much better. There is hope!!

plywood> I'm not sure what type I am but I do agree with what you said. I definitely am hating life right now. I don't know where my life is headed, but I get scared about it sometimes.
