connected to my last post.....I now an actually looking forward to going to

IOP. I think I will feel less depressed if I don't stay isolated anymore. I

mean it is only twice a week so no big deal. I am going to call them up on

Tues or Wed next week when mom and I are home from Idaho. One thing

that I ask of all of you is to pray or whatever for me to have patience. I

tend to get frustrated with the other patients in these groups and start to

hate going then stop. I need to be more compassionate. I need to realize

they are just ill like myself. So yeah, patience.

I once was in an intensive outpatient program with a huge group of other folks and I couldn't handle it. Too many people. I just sat there and listened, talked to myself, went along with activities and such. I had to stop going because the anxiety that the group brought on was too intense.

You're right about having to be compassionate and understanding of the other folks. Just like you would if you were in a doctor's office surrounded my ill folks.

I have always thought that if someone doesn't make you feel good about yourself then you are not meant to talk or be around them. just a thought some people can be very mean don't let your guard down to quickly.

yeah isolation has its drawbacks but being with idiots that lose respect for you when you get too close to them can be pretty bad..especially in working class blue collar ditch diggin' coal mining shit shovelling towns.
As soon as they see any vulnerability or passiveness its like an open invitation to "take over your life"...So going out once in awhile calms the voices..shuts 'em up for a while..but being alone allows certain freedoms and confidence that others won't allow without a constant effort to retain your autonomy...its just one thing that I've noticed about ignorant unlearned outspoken types who attack in group formations.
