I feel aggravated

My parents that is they take me to my extremes over nothing. Why do they always attack me? They are just so inconsiderate of other peoples feelings. I feel like i should hate them for everything theyve done or said to me. Ive alredady been told not to personalize things that people say to me so this is just me venting. At this moment i very much dislike my parents at this moment and they cant make up for that. Now i have to fake smile with them because theres no questioning their authority while they belittle you

that is one of those tough struggles...parents are all the love we ever really knew and it seems to evaporate at some point...sorry your struggling today with this issue...

seems like my mom always throws things was out of proportiond and it aggravates me. It alwsys makes the situation seem worse then it really is. That or she tells everyone my businesss in which I don't want them to know. I would like some dignity myself, what little I have left. It sucks when you have to put on a phasode that everything ok when it really isn't becuase you don't trust them...

My therapist always tells me that other peoples responses and reactions to me are their problems not mine. It is not my doing if they say or do something offensive while I am communicating with them. Don't worry about it. They are your parents. You have to do what they say when they are being parents, but other than that they are the other people who live with you. This really helps me. I hope that it helps you as well. -mona1200

When I have issues mostly with my dad I just go for a walk, try to calm down and it usually passes. Everyones situation is different and your case my be worse than mine, but one thing I tell myself when I want to fly off the handle is, this will make me a stronger person in the long run. If I can deal with my dad I can handle other tough issues life throws at me. It is always helpful to share how your feeling. It doesn't work for me though, theres no getting through to some people. I think the only way I could get through to my dad is to have a psychologist get involved but thats not gonna happen. Good luck to you.

I share your aggravation. Lately, I've had issues with my parents as well. Thought my parents are generally supportive. My parents,myself and my psycologist have decided I have a chore list and a particular time I get up and go to bed each day. I am okay with this. The issue I have is when I do a chore or another task to slow in their opinion or don't do it right away they'll be consequences; such as yesterday when they took away my computertime. My parents also yell and complain when I am too slow. I hate when my parents frustrate me. I hope you and your parents get things straightened out and try to work out a compromise that will be healthy for you and your parents.
