Then there's the unshakeable belief that I have cancer and the doctor just can't find it. I've been bleeding every single day since December 16. This is apparently normal for PCOS, but I can't convince myself it isn't cancer no matter how many times I try to look at it logically.
I have never heard of Cotard's Delusion, but I can certainly understand the feeling, and how hard it might be to rid yourself of it. It seems like everyone in this group has medical insurance except for me, so of course they all say go to the doctor. That's why I don't bother posting here for the most part.
If going to the doctor isn't an option for you either, then I can tell you what I have learned to do. Take a shower. Half the time when you realize you need to, it's been a day or two since your last one anyway. You can feel the water on your skin, so you know you are really there, and you feel a lot more alive when you get out. Sometimes it is hard to take that first step because you don't want to get your hand wet. But it almost always feels better after a shower.
Oh, and don't forget your music. Not the radio, because there are voices in the static between the songs. Use Pandora or CDs, and the voices can't get to you, or they are easy to ignore if they do.
