There are links to depression after a schizophrenic episode sort of all the chemicals in the brain settle down unsure of the other way around. Although had similar experience at that age. Since being on the board it has triggered of a few memories of what I was like at that time and there was the odd irrational thought belief and some hallucinations more in the corner of my eye so it may be just the onset of it. But was more depressed then anything around 14/15 years.

I have schizophrenia and I first had a depression episode before I got schizo. But people with just depression can have psychosis also. I think they call it "Depression with Psychotic Features". Also, you could be SchizoAffective which involves both symptoms of bipolar and symptoms of schizophrenia.

Either way you should be seeing a psychiatrist as soon as possible to get it treated and you should also stop smoking weed because weed triggers the symptoms too and makes the brain less stable. Don't drink alcohol either.

That;s a good question.I had really,really bad depression.The first doc i saw that diagnosed me with schizophrenia at 18 said he had never seen such a bad case of deppression.

My precursor to being diagnosed with schizophrenia was having a severe chronic debilitating depression at around 15 years old. I still struggle with it on and off. Half the professionals that have seen me have said I have a mood disorder (depression) that did not coincide with a thought disorder (schizophrenia) for 2 or more weeks and vice versa therefore they say I am schizoaffective depressed type. But others throw the depression to the wind and say I now have schizophrenia paranoid type. It is tricky to diagnose because there is such a spectrum of psychotic illnesses including schizophreniform, schizotypal, schizoid, depression with psychotic feature and psychotic bipolar disorder. So it would be wise to talk to a professional and let them keep track of your behavior and moods. Best of luck!
