Hello everybody! What the hell is schizophrenia, and how can medication fix a problem that cannot be explained by science? How can old tv reruns, recorded music, or live radio or tv, or a conversation with a person either on the phone or in person have perfectly timed words to coincide with you're 'thoughts' or 'inner voice'? Does anyone know? Perhaps people don't have free will, perhaps people are 'chosen' to come up with groundbreaking scientific discoveries. I apologize; I am not very good at putting my thoughts down, especially about something like this. Does anyone else think its weird to hold your tougue out of your mouth all the time or lick your lips constantly? How could questioning someone's, or everyone else's such behavior warrant hospitalization?

I'm not really sure on how to answer this... but I'll try my best.

Medication can fix problems because they target the symptoms, not the disease as a whole. That's how medication works. It's not just given to us willy-nilly because they 'think' it will work.... some medications truly help people like me. My meds target my symptoms such as delusions or social problems. Plus, I am no longer a danger to myself or others.

I'm not really sure I understand the rest of your question. I apologize, I have a hard time understanding things sometimes.

I've always viewed it as the mind choosing the certain things to notice. How it works exactly, I don't know. It is true that there is something within the brain which causes this, but I've not heard anything more. Although it sounds like something interesting to learn about, I doubt it's fully understood as the brain is not so clear to us.

do you have tardivdiskenisia? that involves the tongue and lips I am taking meds that can cause it but also mask it....and it is perminant

I was thinking that perhaps the licking and chewing is possibly from anxiety...like a nervous habbit. Things like going to a doctor can be unnerving. When I am nervous I wiggle constantly. I will tap or shake one hand as if I am bouncing a ball really fast. I will also chew and lick my lips. I have chewed my lips until they were swollen or even bloody at times. I would suggest chew gum, and purchase a chapstick. Works for me sometimes. Also, bring something that you like to do. I usually bring my PSP or a book to read.

I am not on any medications even though I am starting to think I need them.

Original thoughts are difficult to come by. I think that people now mostly come up with opinions or observations based on other peoples findings, research or original works. -mona1200

    I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the  male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident.  I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once.
