I stay on the computer most of the day. Sometimes I sketch.

I live in a very remote and small town at the moment. I would like to move to a larger city where I can go to NAMI support groups. My uncle, who has schizophrenia does a lot better going to the groups.

I don't like being around people too much but sometimes it would be nice to belong to a group where I am understood.

Do any of you have NAMI support groups in your area? If so, do you attend?

I rather like being alone. Every once in a while if I feel the other person understands I dont mind coming out of isolation but those people are hard to find. I dont do much aside from computer stuff. Maybe watch t.v., netflix, dvd's. I live a pretty bland life.

i don't have social anxiety; society has `me' anxiety and it bums me out if i hang out with society for any length of time. eeek!!!!

Withdrawals tend to come in waves with me. Lots of things trigger it off in me but prefer my own space most of the time. One of my thearpists got me to join a offline surport group. Mainly to get me more social. It's long story why I left that group. But have found them very usefully in making RL friends that understand what your going through.

Somtimes i sink deep into my imagination and try to make it go anywhere i want. Ever seen the movie about the paryletic that would go off on these trips in his mind when he couldnt move or speak. Our minds are amazing to that extent. What really helps me most of the time is being proactive. Not by myself, but in the worlds society. I wake up, go to the bank, see a a teller interact. Go to the gas station interact with the people and the casheir. I'll go to the drug store to pick up my meds say hello to the guy ive gotten to know a littlle who gives me my meds. My point is trying to find things to do in the world that are productive and i have to deal with not so much friends but aqaintences, and thats seems to be enough some days.

Yeah, most often my runs to the grocery store and "candy" store are my most meaningful encounters daily, just interacting as a customer with the clerks or cashiers. It makes a dfifference....the senior center lunch,, on the other hand, is like sitting for an hour in silence surrounded by 60 chattering people talking about the food. I can't get "in" that place...I have a saying that mathematically, nothing (the sum of zero) is greater than something that's negative (a minus number)...in regards to human contact...maybe I should have more "positive" attitude but .....
