First, you build a factory that make a million thingies a year, then you finagle society into buying all of them. The people who made the thingies before you built the factory lose their jobs.
Capitalists view a pandemic as a price-gouging opportunity.
After about 15 years of age, you have to keep reminding yourself that it's the thought that counts.
Stop calling it "identity politics" -- it's about fairness. In a just world, all people are created equal. If you want peace, work/fight for justice.

Pray for those suffering from the delusion that God gives a damn about the world.
I have two wolves inside me, one playful, one rageful, both well-fed.
A cockroach woke this morning, horrified to discover that it had been transformed overnight into Franz Kafka.

Q: Why pay for an education, when you can just lie about it?
A: It might cost you a more in hush money, down the road.
Let me tell you how it will be:
There's none for you, nineteen for me.
'cuz I'm the gasman.
For trying to start an anti-slavery revolution, Republican terrorist John Brown was hanged as a traitor in 1859. He is a martyr of the abolitionists. In tactics, the GOP hasn't changed much, but philosophically has turned topsy-turvy.
For actually starting a pro-slavery revolution in 1864, the President of the Confederacy, and all his surviving minions, were granted amnesty, and there is the crux of many of our problems today.
Granting amnesty after the Civil War gave us the KKK and preserved the Deep South. The Nuremburg trials of Nazis after WWII gave us the EU and modern Germany. What lessons can we draw from this, regarding January 6, 2021? If the judgement of 1859 were replicated in 2023, would it turn the party around again? I think it's worth a try.
If you will intentionally vote for criminals, I will assume that you are one, too.
It seems like either he lies about everything, or he knows literally nothing that's true about anything.
Republicans, being pretty sure that no one who is not a rich white male, or one of their vassals, will vote for their candidates, want to put an end to other kinds of people voting.
The economy, immigration and crime are all "no win" issues. The best strategy is to poll often, publish the poll results, express concern, and pretend to do what the majority wants. Tout any glimmer of good news, then move the focus to some unrelated shiny object. Remember "Space Force"?
Medicine in the USA is heavily invested in prolonging poor heath, where the focus should be in preserving good health. Hence it promotes expensive prescription drugs, organ transplants, and high occupancy rates for hospitals and care facilities; in lieu of nutrition counseling, natural remedies and risk avoidance training. Never, in my entire life, have I seen an ad promoting safety helmets.
The kind of society gun nuts seem to want is the kind where everyone is forced to carry a gun around because no one can be sure that someone isn’t going to start popping people at random. Isn't that special?
How about a society where no one feels any need to carry a gun, because no person who wants to pop people at random can get a gun?
Gun-lickers are smug with the fact that many more (3x) African-Americans (per capita) are harmed by gun violence than Caucasian-Americans are. This actually becomes, for some, another motive to work against gun control, and a pretext used to blame Democrats for the carnage. They would rather point fingers than solve problems.
