Sarcoidosis Support Group
Sarcoidosis is an immune system disorder characterised by non-necrotising granulomas (small inflammatory nodules). Virtually any organ can be affected, however, granulomas most often appear in the lungs or the lymph nodes. Symptoms can occasionally appear suddenly but more often than not appear gradually.
My doctor started me on a remicade infusion last week to treat the skin involvement of my sarc. Has anyone else tried this and what were your results? I am in a lot of pain constantly and don't know how much longer I can deal with this. No kinds of meds have helped. Any suggestions?
My doc tried to get me on Remicade a few years ago but my insurance wouldn't pay for it because it is not approved for treatment of sarc(like anything is!). I have heard other sarcies going on it but I don't know if it works for them. I was actually glad it didn't work out as I am a hard stick for I.V.'s and didn't want to have to go through that.
